Welcome to our Christmas Crochet Classes
We have picked out 8 of our favourite Christmas projects from various designers and will be running classes over 8 weeks to bring them to life with you!
Don't worry, if you can't make it to our classes we have included the links so you can crochet with us at home too! Bookings are essential
See below to see what you may need for the class each week, Feel free to bring items from home or purchase in store.
Week 1 - 20th - 25th October
Snowflake Ornament by Yarnspirations
You will need any 10ply yarn, for best results we recommend cotton or cotton blend and a 4-5mm hook depending on your tension. (You can use any other ply yarn, for a larger or smaller snowflake)
Week 2 - 27th October to 1st November
Granny Christmas Tree by Crochet 365
We used a 10ply cotton and a 4ply cotton for the star. Gauge is not important and you could use any ply and type of yarn. For best results we recommend cotton.
Week 3 - 3rd - 8th November
Crochet Christmas Tree by The Lazy Hobby Hopper
You could use any ply and type of yarn for this project. If using an 8ply yarn your tree will be approximately 9-10cm high. For a larger tree use a thicker ply yarn.
Week 4 - 10th - 15 November
Snowy Wheat Ornament by Briana K Designs
Bring a plain bauble or buy one in store.
Pattern recommends Brava Worsted but any 10ply would be suitable. We have used 10ply cotton. (You could use any ply yarn and adjust the pattern count to meet the required size.
Week 5 - 17th - 22 November
Star Placemat - Sunburst Pattern by Jayda Institches
We recommend an 8ply cotton for this project. You can you do a single colour or two ro more for the stripe effect.
Week 6 - 24th - 29 November
Rustic Farmhouse Snowman by MJ's Off the Hook Designs
Yarn required - 1 ball of Fiddlesticks Big or double strand 12ply yarn or triple strand 10ply yarn and a small amount of 10ply yarn for his hat.
You can purchase a pack from the class which will include twine, toy filling, muslin drawstring bag with rice or you can bring these items from home.
Sticks will be needed for arms and a hot glue gun to finish the project.
Week 7 - 1st - 6th December
Rustic Farmhouse Holiday Gnome by MJ's Off the Hook Designs
Yarn required - 1 ball of 10ply for Body, 1/2 to 1 ball of 10ply for Hat, Small amount of yarn for pom pom
You can purchase a pack from the class which will include, toy filling, muslin drawstring bag with rice, precut beard and nose, or you can bring these items from home.
Hot glue gun will be required to finish the project.
Week 8 -8th - 13 December
Granny All The Way Stockings by Briana K Designs
The pattern recommends 10ply yarn. Other yarn can be used however it will alter the size of the stocking
Terms and Conditions
Payment for Classes: Our classes are kept small in order to maximise your learning experience. This means you will receive individual attention during class, but it also means that places are limited.
In order to reserve a space in a class you must pay the fee in advance. Payments and bookings are made via our website www.knittygrittyyarnandmore.com or in store.
Booking and Cancellations:We understand that things happen and sometimes you are unable to attend a class. However, in order to cover our teacher and class costs, please be aware of the following when booking your class.
Cancellations or changes of date made with 7 or more days notice will receive a full refund less $10 administration fee. This can be a refund or a credit to another class.
Cancellations or changes of date made with less than 7 days notice may forfeit 50% of the class fee*. This can be a refund or a credit toward another class.
Cancellations or changes of date made with less than 48 hours notice may forfeit full fee*. No refund or credit will be given.
Missing a second or subsequent session of a multi-session class there is no refund for missed session. Make up sessions are generally not available, however our teacher may be willing to arrange another date for session or book a private class.
*All reimbursements are made at the discretion of the shop owner and are determined on a case by case basis.
Occasionally, we may cancel a class* due to low booking numbers. We really don't like doing this as we love to teach people to crochet, but if we don't cover our costs we can't run the class. If we must cancel a class, enrolled participants will be notified 24 hours or more prior to the scheduled class and will receive a credit for the replacement class or a full refund as required.
Supplies/Materials:To avoid the disappointment and frustration that occurs when using inferior tools, we ask that any specific materials be purchased from our shop and you do not substitute.
Students may be able to purchase supplies on line. Please arrive at least 15-30min early to purchase supplies if you have not already done so prior to class.
