Have you ever wanted to learn how to crochet but wondered where to start? Haven't picked up a hook for a long time and want a refresher? Want to try a new pattern but want a bit of help?
In this 1 and 1/2 hour class you choose either to learn your basic stitches, working in a row to create two beautiful wash cloths or may be you have your own pattern you want some help with
You will receive class notes and basic patterns to continue your crocheting experience with the skills you have learnt in class.
Why not try our Crochet Along (CAL) where over eight classes you will receive seven different and gorgeous granny squares by Melinda Miller Design to complete in your choice of colour/s and one joining class. Make multiple ones to make a blanket or use a few for a cushion cover. The choice is yours.
The first pattern in the Crochet Along (CAL) is 'Blooming Lace’ (first picture). Basic crochet knowledge is recommended.
We have added Seaside Blanket Crochet Along (CAL) by Eleonora Tully to our classes.
This is the ‘Seaside Stash Busting Blanket’ was hosted by Eleonora Tully as a 35 week ‘Crochet Along’ on her blog www.coastalcrochet.com from January - September 2018. All the details remain on her blog. It became a worldwide community project with people from over 40 different countries crocheting this blanket! The original blanket was made using only yarns she had in her stash. However you can use whatever colour combinations and yarn you want to suit your own tastes.
We will provide her pattern over 11 classes!
We have added Mandala Madness Crochet Along (CAL) by Helen Shrimpton to our classes.
The Mandala Madness CAL was hosted by Helen on her website www.crystalsandcrochet.com from March to July 2016 All the details and patterns remain on her website. You can use whatever colour combinations and yarn you want to suit your own tastes.
We will provide her pattern over 18 classes plus an additional class to square the mandala if you wish to.
We have just added an Afghan Sampler Crochet Along (CAL) by Inspired Wren to our classes.
In 2015 Inspired Wren hosted this CAL, where the afghan is comprised of 20 squares in ten sample stitches on her blog - at the www.theinspiredwren.blogspot.com. All the details and patterns remain on her bog. You can use whatever colour combinations and yarn you want to suit your own tastes.
We will provide the pattern over 11 classes.
Please see below for the recommended yarn for each of the different patterns; all which can be purchased from our store. You are welcomed to bring your own supplies or purchase from our store.
You will receive a 10% discount for any items purchased during the class.
During your lesson you are welcome to enjoy some light refreshments.
Classes are kept small so we are able to cater to all students and give them individual attention.

Who can come?
No crochet experience is needed, completely suitable for the absolute beginner in crochet. 12 years and up.
Terms and Conditions
Payment for Classes: Our classes are kept small in order to maximise your learning experience. This means you will receive individual attention during class, but it also means that places are limited.
In order to reserve a space in a class you must pay the fee in advance. Payments and bookings are made via our website www.knittygrittyyarnandmore.com or in store.
Booking and Cancellations:We understand that things happen and sometimes you are unable to attend a class. However, in order to cover our teacher and class costs, please be aware of the following when booking your class.
Cancellations or changes of date made with 7 or more days notice will receive a full refund less $10 administration fee. This can be a refund or a credit to another class.
Cancellations or changes of date made with less than 7 days notice may forfeit 50% of the class fee*. This can be a refund or a credit toward another class.
Cancellations or changes of date made with less than 48 hours notice may forfeit full fee*. No refund or credit will be given.
Missing a second or subsequent session of a multi-session class there is no refund for missed session. Make up sessions are generally not available, however our teacher may be willing to arrange another date for session or book a private class.
*All reimbursements are made at the discretion of the shop owner and are determined on a case by case basis.
Occasionally, we may cancel a class* due to low booking numbers. We really don't like doing this as we love to teach people to crochet, but if we don't cover our costs we can't run the class. If we must cancel a class, enrolled participants will be notified 24 hours or more prior to the scheduled class and will receive a credit for the replacement class or a full refund as required.
Supplies/Materials:To avoid the disappointment and frustration that occurs when using inferior tools, we ask that any specific materials be purchased from our shop and you do not substitute.
Students may be able to purchase supplies on line. Please arrive at least 15-30min early to purchase supplies if you have not already done so prior to class.
